Written in a time of decision-making, this high-energy pop track plays with metaphors of math and brostep influences, inspired by Halsey. The dense programming combines catchy vocal melodies and stacked rap-vocals.  Produced in the same Swiss studio where Justin Timberlake recorded “Love never felt so good” this song will be played at Switzerland’s greatest radio station. The music video features footage from a miniaturworld contrasting with the greater dimensions of Europe’s biggest waterfall.

Everything is different still the same. This song is based on my personal story of facing the unknown, navigating challenges and taking new steps despite of it. Catchy electro-beat vocal melodies dance on a programming with pumping electro house-influences, produced by a team of experienced Swiss producers. The music video features 360 footage filmed from a tower and various locations. Singing in an astronaut costume, the visual turning planet effects add to the fresh sound and amped mood.

About Me

What if the world around us translated into a song?

Lydia’s song-story began a long time ago when she fell in love with the piano at a young age. Taking lessons in Zurich, Switzerland, she would listen to lesson recordings for hours trying to pick up every note of her piano teacher’s solos. Piling up anecdotes for the people around her, she was constantly writing lyrics and melodies in the most unexpected moments; even during French exams in school.
Growing up near Schaffhausen, Switzerland, she engaged in various musical projects, both locally and abroad. Her openness to a variety of genres has allowed her to develop an appreciation for a wide range of music. She has also gained influence from the various places she has lived, such as Sydney, Australia, and Stockholm, Sweden.
In 2014, the uplifting melody of a childhood dream, which was evolving into reality, took an unexpected turn when an accident triggered a chronic nerve disease in her hand called CRPS. After years of treatment, and in and out of hospitals, both her piano-dreams and her career were on track to dissolve into tunes of silence.
However while still on the road to recovery, Lydia, with the help of her husband, was empowered to keep writing music. In 2019 she enrolled in Berklee’s distance Bachelor of Songwriting study program. Alas, there was light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.
In 2020, she started working on her first EP, which was accompanied by the piano teacher who coached her as a teenager. In her songs, we find catchy and uplifting electro-pop melodies melting together with lyrics that can only be described as reflections of her life. Her first single, “Different Planet”, marks the beginning of a journey that actually started at an early childhood.
Lydia believes there is always a song to be found; a melody of our heart resonating with the world around us. The experiences we can never seem to grasp take us on journeys that seem never ending. Therefore it is a song that can never be silenced and never gives up.

Wie wäre es, wenn man die Welt um uns herum in einen Song verwandeln könnte?
Die musikalische Reise von Lydia beginnt schon als kleines Mädchen. Das Spielen am Klavier bedeutet einfach alles für sie. Sie besucht deshalb bereits früh Klavierunterricht in Zürich und nimmt von Beginn weg jede Klavierstunde sorgfältig auf einen Tonträger auf. Ihre Leidenschaft geht so weit, dass jede Aufzeichnung der Klavierstunde dann zu Hause unzählige Male abgespielt wird, um jeden einzelnen Ton der verschiedenen Soli des Klavierlehrers herauszuhören und nachzuspielen. In allen möglichen und unmöglichen Situationen erleben die Leute, die mit Lydia unterwegs sind, wie sie laufend Texte und Melodien schreibt, sogar während einer Schulprüfung im Fach „Französisch“. Alles dreht sich um Musik!
Lydia wächst in der Nähe von Schaffhausen (Schweiz) auf, wo sie als junger Teenager einen Radiowettbewerb gewinnt. Mit der Zeit werden nationale und internationale Musikprojekte Teil ihres musikalischen Fussabdruckes (u.a. CH, DE, AT, US). Ihre Liebe und Offenheit für verschiedene Musikstile ist stets von unterschiedlichen Einflüssen geprägt, vor allem durch ihre langen Aufenthalte in Sydney (AU) und Stockholm (SE), wo sie mehrere Jahre lebt.
Im Jahr 2014 verändert sich die fröhliche Melodie ihres Kindheitstraumes abrupt. Ein kleiner Unfall mit ihrer Hand ist der Auslöser für eine schwere chronische Nerven-Schmerzkrankheit (CRPS). Ihre musikalische Karriere kommt praktisch zum Stillstand. Während mehreren Jahren muss sie sich fast täglich den unterschiedlichsten Behandlungen unterziehen, wandert von Arzt zu Arzt, verbringt viel Zeit im Spital und muss erleben, wie ihre musikalischen Träume sich nach und nach in “Melodien der Stille” aufzulösen drohen.
Immer noch nicht völlig gesund und ohne wirklichen Lichtblick am Horizont, beschliesst sie vier Jahre nach Ausbruch der Krankheit und mit der treuen Unterstützung ihres Ehemanns neue Songs zu schreiben und sich überdies für ein musikalisches Studium zu bewerben. Relativ unerwartet kann sie daraufhin Anfang 2019 ein Fernstudium für einen Bachelor in „Songwriting“ am Berklee College Of Music, Boston beginnen. Der Nebel scheint sich langsam zu lichten, die Hoffnung kehrt zurück.
Anfangs des Jahres 2020 beginnt sie, an ihrer ersten eigenen EP zu arbeiten. Zu diesem Zweck geht sie zurück in die eigene Vergangenheit und holt sich Hilfe von ihrem ehemaligen Klavierlehrer, der sie schon als Teenager unterrichtete und begleitete. In ihren Songs verschmelzen eingängige Melodien mit Texten, die man als Spiegel ihres Lebens bezeichnen könnte. Sie zeigen den schwierigen und tränenreichen Weg von der Krankheit zurück in die eigene Berufung. Ihre erste Single “Different Planet ” zeichnet damit den Anfang einer Reise, die eigentlich schon in ihrer Kindheit begonnen hat.
Lydia ist überzeugt davon, dass es irgendwie immer einen Song gibt: ein Lied, das mit der Welt um uns herum mitschwingt und sich widerspiegelt in all dem, was wir verstehen und glauben. Ein Song, der uns mitnimmt auf eine Reise, die, wie es scheint, nie aufhört. Es ist eine Stimme, die nicht verstummt und uns zu verstehen gibt: “Gib nie auf!”
